La Semana Santa...

era un concepto diferente en nuestra infancia y parte de nuestra adolescencia...





Al mármol que cubría la cómoda de la pieza de los Abuelos, siempre llena de misticismo y Gloria Divina con las figuras e imágenes de Vírgenes mirando al Cielo, de Cristos Dolientes crucificados, del Sagrado Corazón con su pecho abierto, mi abuela Carmen lo cubría piadosamente con paños morados sin dejar ni un hueco por donde entrara la luz... y desde ese momento se moría todo lo que nos había acompañado durante años y que había sido testigo de largos rosarios cuando alguno de nuestros mayores fue velado en esa pieza, la de mayor rango en la casa materna, o testigo de rezos, plegarias y mandas en tardes de liturgia campesina, sana y auténtica...

La Iglesia del pueblo, orgullo de todos nosotros, ausentes o presentes en el día de hoy, era un mar morado que le daba un aspecto único y jamás repetido y nunca más visto por mí desde entonces. Cubiertos de flores, los altares eran una ofrenda a lo muerto y a la vida resucitada en pocos días más...

Y nosotros, niños, quedábamos ahí quietos y mudos, ensimismados por misterios que nos acomparían toda una vida.

El patio, que día a día se llenaba de jolgorio y juegos infantiles, se transformaba, literalmente en el patio de un cementerio. Prohibido jugar, cantar, silbar, gritar y correr... caminando en silencio, obedecíamos y respetábamos el dolor de nuestros mayores, aún incomprensible para nosotros. Murió el Señor, nos explicaban, y no veíamos a nadie muerto... El Señor murió para resucitar, nos repetían, y nuestro entendimiento, que no podía con tanta cosa inaccesible, aceptaba callado.

El otoño incipiente o ya pleno, el color de sus hojas, el olor de la naturaleza que va poco a poco también muriendo por unos meses, acompañaba y le daba el marco natural a un ambiente de dolor y silencio, que hacía aún más fantásticas, las fantasías de nuestra época... y dentro de todo ese medio ambiente, estaba la música... las radios transmitían una música especial y desconocida, es, venía la explicación de rigor, Música Sacra, música de Santos, Música Sagrada.... coros nunca oídos e instrumentos extraños, nos traían un mensaje de otros mundos, de pasados tan de otras partes, de dolores tan de otros seres humanos que cantaban y tocaban con una majestad lejana y no conocida. Las radios tocaban, Música Sacra....

Y, desde entonces, pregunté qué era, o quiénes eran... mi hermano mayor, mi padre y los curas de turno en los estudios, más letrados, nos decían se llaman Conciertos, Cantatas y Misas, se llaman Bach, Vivaldi, Beethoven se llaman Mozart y El Requiem, y Haendel y El Mesías, es la música clásica... que los locutores de las radios iban anunciando con una entonación especial... años después, aprendí el concepto de música Barroca que me enseñó mi hermano....


Y la música barroca me acompaña desde entonces... nunca más me pude sustraer a su embrujo, jamás pude dejar de escucharla como la escuchaba entonces en mi pueblo, en nuestras fieles Radios a tubos, Philips y RCA Victor, en medio del silencio sepulcral, repito, del patio y de la casa... y empapado por el color y aroma de flores en el altar de la Iglesia, de colores morados en todas partes y de un otoño que nunca olvidaré, que ni quiero ni puedo olvidar...


Y en aquellas Semanas Santas diferentes, en que el dolor cristiano tenía otra dimensión, aprendí a querer a esos genios que supieron hacer tantas cosas, tan tan bellas, no sólo para celebrar Muerte y Resurrección, sino para entregar un sentido de vida a través de sus obras magníficas...


Y en esta página modesta y común recuerdo esos días místicos con devoción, veneración y respeto, muy lejos ya del Misterio, pero siempre muy cerca del Ser Humano....


Y en estas letras, mi homenaje a los músicos que se escuchaban entonces y que escucho desde entonces, y gracias a esa época y a esas Radios que nos hicieron conocerlos.


Y gracias al recuerdo de una época en que esta Semana de Amor Cristiano tenía, por lo menos para mí, dimensiones verdaderamente profundas y sentidamente místicas…


Ahora es distinto, pero todo cambia en la espuma de la vida...
